Everyone needs to stop trying to convince me to contact my dad. The fact that he might be dying does not change the fact that I made a decision at age 13 that when I turned 18 I’d be done with him forever. Some things can’t be forgiven, and I’ve had plenty of time to think about that decision. It’s been 4 years since the last time I talked to him, and it was the best choice I’ve ever made. I just wish my family could respect that choice without me having to explain what he did. I can’t handle that.
